AI Response Errors
What to do if you receive an error message
Understanding Error Messages
While we strive to provide seamless AI interactions, occasionally you may encounter error messages. These errors can occur for various reasons - from temporary server issues to connectivity problems. This guide helps you understand common error types and how to resolve them quickly.
Common Error Types
"Unable to generate response"
This error appears when the AI model encounters an issue processing your request.
Common Causes:
- Request contains inappropriate or unsafe content
- Question is too complex or ambiguous for the AI to parse
- Temporary AI model overload or maintenance
- Your question triggered content safety filters
Quick Fixes:
- Rephrase your question using different wording
- Break complex questions into smaller, simpler parts
- Remove any potentially sensitive or inappropriate language
- Wait a few minutes and try again
"Service temporarily unavailable"
Our servers are experiencing temporary issues or undergoing maintenance.
Common Causes:
- Scheduled maintenance or updates
- Unexpected server outage
- High traffic volume overwhelming servers
- Database or cloud infrastructure issues
Quick Fixes:
- Wait 5-10 minutes and refresh the page
- Check our status page or social media for service updates
- Try again during off-peak hours if possible
- Contact support if the issue persists beyond 30 minutes
"Network connection error"
Your device lost connection to our servers while processing your request.
Common Causes:
- Weak or unstable internet connection
- Switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data
- VPN or firewall blocking our services
- Browser connectivity issues
Quick Fixes:
- Check your internet connection is stable
- Try switching to a different network
- Disable VPN temporarily and test again
- Refresh the page or restart your browser
"Rate limit exceeded"
You've sent too many requests in a short time period.
Common Causes:
- Sending multiple questions rapidly in succession
- Refreshing the page repeatedly
- Automated scripts or browser extensions sending requests
- Hitting daily question limit (Free accounts)
Quick Fixes:
- Wait 30-60 seconds before sending another request
- Check your daily usage limit (Free: 50 questions/day)
- Disable any browser extensions that might interfere
- Consider upgrading to Premium for unlimited questions
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
Follow these steps in order:
Check Your Internet Connection
Verify you have a stable connection by trying to load another website. If other sites work, the issue is likely with AskFLC.
Refresh the Page
A simple page refresh can resolve many temporary issues. Press Ctrl+R (Windows) or Cmd+R (Mac).
Rephrase Your Question
Try asking the same thing using different words. Sometimes the way a question is phrased can affect how the AI processes it.
Clear Browser Cache and Cookies
Old cached data can sometimes cause conflicts. Clear your browser's cache for askflc.com.
Try a Different Browser
If the error persists, test in another browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) to rule out browser-specific issues.
Check for Browser Extensions
Ad blockers, privacy extensions, or script blockers can interfere with AI responses. Try disabling them temporarily.
Wait and Retry
If the error message mentions server issues, wait 5-10 minutes before trying again. Temporary outages usually resolve quickly.
Preventing Future Errors
Keep Your Browser Updated
Always use the latest version of your web browser for best compatibility and fewest errors.
Use a Stable Internet Connection
Wired connections or strong Wi-Fi are more reliable than weak or public networks for uninterrupted AI conversations.
Be Clear and Specific
Well-formed, clear questions are less likely to trigger errors than vague or overly complex ones.
Pace Your Questions
Avoid rapid-fire questions. Give the AI a few seconds to process each response before asking another question.
Monitor Your Usage Limits
Free accounts have a 50 questions/day limit. Upgrade to Premium for unlimited questions and avoid hitting limits.
